Blessed Be

Every century Terra, spirit of the earth, is separated from the Eterna Tree. When this happens an angel descends upon the Earth the gather Mystics and return Terra to the Eterna Tree before she dies and the world becomes a barren wasteland.

Notes

• The types of Mystics are: Fire, Water, Wind/Air(Same thing), Earth, Life, and Death
  
• The Angel is an NPC that I will control in the opening for reasons you will soon discover
  
• There is a demon for each Mystic that preys on their weaknesses and insecurities
  
• Wind is the same element as Air, just a different name
  
• To use their magic, Mystics use different chants

Rules

• The Usual
  
• No one knows who Terra is in any way, shape, or form. Just no
  
• You can make up a chant if you want, or take a chant from somewhere else (ie: a wiccan chant)
  
• At least try to make your character a team player. I'm getting pretty tired of trying to get lone wolves to work with the group. It isn't practical for the roleplay and sucks the fun out really fast. If you must have a lone wolf, then have it as part of their past and keep it there

Henry watched as a ball of light floated towards the earth. As the light touched the earth it became a man. No, it was an angel! The angel slowly fell to the ground, it was then that Henry noticed the blood. Henry ran to the angel's side and the angel spoke softly "Terra... you must... find... Terra"
"Terra?"
"The spirit... of the world"
"What... how do I find Terra?"
"Find... the mystic ones... come together... Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecate, Demeter, Kali, Inanna"
"Names of the other mystics?"
"The chant... to save Terra"
"How do I find the other mystics?"
"Crucifix and wanderer"
"What? What does that mean!"
The angel repeated with his dying breath "Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecate, Demeter, Kali, Inanna" Henry repeated the chant under his breath, memorizing each word, and headed towards the nearest city. There was a large abandoned church in the city, that would be where the 'Crucifix' would be found he reasoned. And 'Wanderer'... well, he just hoped they would find each other.

Kaleb looked around the city, mouth agape, that he found himself in after he had snuck off of the ship that he had stowed away in back in Japan.

Something about seeing this kind of...modernity simply astounded him. As he walked, a small twister of dust wove it's way around his feet. Stopping for a moment, he looked down at it as it slowly vanished, he chided himself for letting his wonder distract him from the limited control he had over his strange powers.

Walking again, he let his feet steer him where they wanted to go as he slipped into one of his trains of thought.

When he snapped to he found himself to be down the street from a church. Shrugging, he began to walk towards it.

From within the church a voice was heard. Singing a soft, haunting lullaby. A couple passing the church whispered to one another of the local new story running it's course.

If one listened closely they could hear the song

Hush now

Kaleb sighed as he listened to the hushed song, climbing up onto the pedestal occupied by what looked like a lion, he sat crosslegged behind it, closed his eyes and slowly closed his as he drifted off to his own personal paradise.

He sat there for a few moments, then curiosity overtook him. Descending from where he sat, he walked up the old wood doors and heaved backwards to open them.

Slowly, he slipped inside, careful not to disturb the peace of this sacred place.

As the door opened wider, the song grew louder. Alluring. Like an oasis in a dry desert.

Kaleb looked up to the altar and witnessed a strange sight, a man with a younger man in his lap. But what was strange was the water that surrounded them.

He chose not to speak at that moment, something told him that this was not to be interrupted.

The water now ventured to surround and caress the visitor. The child's song finished, causing the water to vanish, and he asked "who are you? What are you doing here?"

Kaleb shivered as the water touched his skin, then shuddered as the water left as the song ended. He froze when he heard the voice, "I-I heard the song..." A tiny whirlwind darted around his feet, stirring up tiny clouds of dust from around the ends of the pews.

"you're the first to ever come close" the boy replied happily, but quietly. He motioned toward the man in his lap and said "I found him here, cold and alone. He seemed so confused and tired so I decided to help him sleep. But... he wakes up easy, and still has dark rings around his eyes. It's like he hasn't slept for years or something"

"Name's Kaleb..." He debated on whether or not to mention his last name, "...Theta. Kaleb Theta." He said quietly.

"Alastair Valentine," The boy replied with a polite bow of his head "and this is Eugene... er... he never said his last name"

Kaleb watched Eugene sleep, as he did something tugged at the edge of his mind, "Alastair? Did you know that as you sang that song, you were surrounded by water?"

The twister at his feet suddenly stopped and seemed to look up at him, almost longingly.

Alastair blinked once, then covered his mouth to stifle laughter. Through poorly silenced giggles he replied "you are a silly man"

Kaleb sighed as he sank to the floor crosslegged, "Sing the song again, but with your eyes open."

The tiny twister darted between them before vanishing and throwing a small ball of dust into the air. Kaleb watched it fade away only to think, Why me? The memories of him being chased from his village came bubbling to the surface, he silently fought to keep those at bay and fought to hold back a tear.

Alastair sang again, eyes open. And from Kaleb's eyes his tears became a flowing river. A voice broke the duo's concentration

He jumped slightly, "Who's there?" Kaleb called out softly.

Eugene sat up and said "'tis I. The young one named me... Eugene" Alastair hugged Eugene and said "I'm sorry I woke you up" Eugene patted the boy's head and replied "worry not. I stirred the moment your siren's call ceased its alluring sound"

Eugene got to his feet, rather stiffly, and held his left side as he said "I bid thee welcome"

Kaleb stood up and bowed out of reflex, "My own salutations, Eugene."

The twister came back to life and playfully darted around Eugene's and Kaleb's feet. Kaleb's eyes followed the dervish as it moved; he was always fascinated by it when it appeared. It had become his familiar in a way.

Eugene looked at the miniature wind creature and said "to what extent dost thou have control over this creature?"

In answer, Kaleb jerked his hand upwards and the twister leaped up and onto his outstretched hand, "Unfortunately this is the limit as I have had to train myself."

"I see" Eugene replied "verily thou has trained diligently"

Kaleb sighed as the small tornado dissipated, something was...bothering him, something he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Suddenly, a man cam literally flying through the church doors. On FIRE! Then a child holding a jack-o-lantern came running in and the two new comers immediately started fighting each other.

Eugene moved Alastair behind a pillar and took a defensive stance.

Reacting immediately, Kaleb sprang backwards doing a momentary handstand, then leapt up off his hand, with his right grabbing for the foldable katana that sat within his pocket. He landed perfectly on his feet, facing the combatants.

Jerking his arm backwards, the katana extended fully with a click as it locked into place, his eyes narrowed as he settled into his 'battle stance.'
