No More Heroes

Faust 'smiled' at the men and said "The Fae be free. Now" At his authoritative tone the men scattered. Faust looked at the Fae and said "we be done?"

Snatching the money from the Fae, he threw it back to the man, then turning back to the Fae as the soldiers left, "Champion of the Fae, I mean. Show that there is something more to the Fae. If you refuse, I'll let you go with double what that man had." He jingled his own coin purse.

Looking over at Faust, "Could he be one of the Heroes?" He whispered.

"Anyone can be hero," Faust said "just need to be strong enough to allow second soul to be livin' in the same body"

Turning back to the Fae, "Well are you?"

"We see Senri. We be needin' him anyway" Faust decided as he walked away.

"Faust, meet us at the south gate when you're ready." He called after the daemon.

"Let's go." He nodded to the Fae, "I'm Edwin. And you would be?"

"You're welcome. I am a firm believer in that everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves, regardless of being Fae, human, or daemon. Or coming from as far as Fok'Rith."

Casting his eyes around the market, "Good thing is that I'm friends with many of the merchants here so they'll be hopefully willing to give us a slight discount on supplies."

Daemon trilling could be heard in one of the shops. When Fae brawled, people made bets. When humans brawled, people watched at a distance. But when Daemon start fighting, especially earth and fire daemons, people knew to run.

Poor Senri shivered by the door to his shop where the trilling was coming from. His mother was not happy.

"Actually I think I traveled up to Fok'Rith once with Queen Mara and her guards..." Edwin thought out loud.

Looking down at Shu's shoes, "I'll get you what you need. Don't worry."

"We went all over Fok'Rith. But I think it was during a particularly bad heat wave that we visted, being the only one there capable of using Water magic so I found myself cooling down the Queen and the guards a lot with what water I had and could pull out from deep underground."

Looking around, he spotted one vendor that he recognized, "Come on. This guy's a cobbler. He'll have new boots for you in no time."

Senri approached a man(Edwin) and asked "e-e-excuse me? Do you know a m-man named 'Edwin Onew'?"

Edwin turned, "That would be me. What's the matter?"

Senri shivered and asked "d-d-d-do you kn-know a daemon named 'F-Faust'?"

He nodded, "I do. He went off looking for someone by the name of Senri, I think."

Senri pointed at himself and said "th-that's me. He is at my sh-shop trying to convince my daemon mother to release me. I-I fear they m-may start fighting with m-m-magic soon. I was h-hoping, since you know him, y-you may know how to either calm him or g-get him to l-leave peacefully"

"Oh..." He said shortly, he had seen what happened when two fighting daemons get together, "I'll try. Lead me to your shop."

Looking at Shu, "Give me a few minutes... I hope."

Senri lead Edwin to his shop, narrowly avoiding a blast of flame and stones, and pointed inside. Faust and a 'female' daemon were trilling away at eachother, neither looking ready to back down.

Dodging the same burst of flame, "Faust! What on earth are you doing?" He readied his hands in case he had to extinguish something.

Faust focused on the earth daemon as he replied "she not be herself! Iselia be corrupted!" The other daemon shot stone spikes at Faust and cried "Lies! He is trying to take my child!" Faust looked at Edwin and said "no daemon, no matter how attached, be callin' another species their child! Always be called 'adoptive kin'!"

Edwin nodded, but kept his hands raised, ready to use his magic, "That is true, in everything I've read, daemons that choose to 'adopt' one of another species, the adopted is ALWAYS called the 'adoptive kin'."

Iselia went into a rage and charged at Faust and Edwin. Faust burned her left side, but it did not stop her.

Edwin dodged under Iselia and immediately created a spear out of ice and tried to stab Iselia through the abdomen but to no avail. Instead he received a mighty blow to his side from Iselia's fist, "Ack!" He spluttered as he flew through the air.

Hitting the ground, he immediately got back up and moved his free hand in an intricate pattern, water swirled around Iselia, forming a cage made out of super-chilled ice, "The tiniest drop of water can undo the greatest of mountains." He grunted.

Iselia growled and sank into the ground. Faust looked around and said "she be gone. We be takin' Senri Fig now" Senri poked his head in the doorway and squeaked "me?"

Edwin breathed out slowly, releasing the ice cage, "Yes, you Senri. If Faust says we need you, then we must."

Turning to Faust, "I'll meet you at the south gate in about an hour, I have to take Shu to get some supplies."
