Yami No Ou

Salem went to the center of the tent and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath and, after a moment of stillness, pointed at a random door and said "This one. This is the door." The door floated toward Salem and landed before him. He looked it over as the voice rang in their ears


Salem stuck his key in the skull-shaped lock and replied "must be. This is the only door with two locks"

Derrick walked over to Salem and put his key into the lock, "I trust you." He said to Salem.

((Slight powerplay, sorry TT_TT))

The moment the two opened the locks they fell unconscious. Salem awoke to the sounds of gunshots and explosions. Looking around he saw that they were in a foxhole in the very center of a war zone!

Derrick woke groggily, and muttered, "Anyone get the plate of th-" He was cut off by an explosion nearby that rained the two with dirt and debris, "The shit?!" He jumped.

Salem, very carefully, poked his head out to check out the area. The bombs were falling from planes roaring overhead, the gunfire came from automated turrets that littered the field. Salem went back into the foxhole, covered his now watering eyes, and said through clenched teeth "Next level of Hell. Bomber planes over head and turrets everywhere"

((Because Salem is albino he burns easily in the sun and can't handle a lot of light))

Winchell poked his head over the edge of the foxhole to see the field for himself, sliding back down, "How the hell are we going to get out of here?"

Noticing Salem covering his eyes, "You okay?"

Salem replied with a sigh "Albino. I'm albino. I can't handle much light." He let one hand drop to show Derrick his red eye.

Derrick recoiled slightly, "Well I suppose we'll have to keep you out of direct light."

Salem dug in his pockets and fished out his sunglasses. He put them on and said "cover? Do you see cover we can head for?"

((There are some ruined buildings here and there, and a forest behind them))

Derrick poked his head out of the foxhole, "We got some ruined buildings and a forest to pick from, your call on this one."

"My call? Uh... Forest. The forest should be furthest from here and safe"

"Then forest it is." He waited for a lull in the rain of bullets, when it came he scrambled out of the hole, "Let's go!"

Salem followed Derrick. As they went further into the forest Salem slowed down and said "Smell that...?" Salem quickly ripped a piece of his shirt off and covered his mouth and nose


((If you don't know, foxglove is a type of plant that, if made into a perfume, can paralyze you if you inhale it. This is one of Victor's traps))

"Shit." Derrick muttered as he tore a strip out of his shirt and covered his mouth and nose.

Looking around, "Wait, I don't think this is the proper climate for foxglove."

"Someone else? Is there someone else here?" Salem wondered. There was some rustling in the trees above the duo. Salem looked up and then leapt out of the way of a falling beyanette, which fell with such force that it stuck in the ground.

Derrick sidestepped away from the bayonette, "The hell?"
