Yami no Ou stole you from your world to test your soul! So excited! So excited to see if you survive! You will travel from world to world after finding each key. So fun! So fun to watch you die!

Salem awoke in the middle of a big, barren circus tent. Taking slow, careful steps he found the exit and stepped outside. It was night, the moon high in the sky, and a forest surrounded the circus Salem found himself in. Salem tried leaving through the woods, but ended up back at the circus, even though he took no turns. This was... strange. To say the least.

When Derrick opened his eyes, he had a sudden case of vertigo, he was looking directly at the ground, "Whoa!" He yelled. Quickly shutting his eyes, he hoped that this was a dream, when he opened them again, he was still staring at the ground. Shutting them once again, he concluded that this was not a dream.

Opening them, he looked up and saw that his legs were entangled in a trapeze. Curling his body, he managed to grab onto the trapeze with both his hands. He spent a few minutes carefully disentangling himself.

Now holding onto the rod, he began to swing back and forth, till he managed to leap onto one of the platforms. Sitting down for a moment, he tried to regain his sense of space. Looking down, he was nearly sick; he never did like heights.

Climbing down the nearby ladder slowly with his eyes closed, he hit the ground and opened his eyes and saw that he was in a circus tent, "Okay?" He muttered to himself, something wasn't right here, and he knew it.

Salem wandered around and decided, instead of investigating each tent he would call out "Heloooooo~! Heloooooo~?"

Derrick nearly jumped a foot in the air when he heard a voice, "Anyone out there?" He called back.

Automatically, he readied himself for a fight just in case this person was hostile in anyway.

((Forgot to mention, he can be paranoid at times))

Salem followed the voice, poked his head in the tent and said "... Salem"

(I forgot to mention Salem is wearing sunglasses)

Derrick jumped again as his back was turned to the newcomer. Whipping around, he saw the person, when he heard what he said, he replied with, "What?"

((He's disorientated right now, he'll snap out of it.))

"Salem. Me. My name is Salem" Salem replied as he fully entered the tent.

"Oh... Derrick." He paused for a moment while trying to remember his last name, "...Adams. Derrick Adams."

Salem thought for a moment and replied "O'Connell. Salem O'Connell. Didn't think we'd need last names, but whatever." Salem dared to venture a little closer, not a trace of nervousness in his posture or voice as he asked "from here? Are you from around here?"

"No, I'm not. Suddenly woke up on the trapeze up there." He pointed upwards at the still moving trapeze.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, he struggled to fight off a sudden wave of nausea that came from remembering the height at which he woke up at, "Ugh."

"Sick? Are you sick?" Salem asked

((He's going to talk like this to Derrick for a while. Salem usually says one-liners, but since Derrick didn't get it the first time Salem feels he must elaborate every one-liner))

"A little." Derrick breathed in deeply.

Salem looked around and asked "feel that? Do you feel that?" Suddenly, all the lights turned on. The trapeze swung on its own, voices could be heard cheering unseen performers, and from another section of the tent empty suits of all types entered and began a ghostly performance.

Derrick watched the trapeze swing to and fro, and empty suits walking in, "What the hell, indeed." He said slowly.

A voice came on over an unseen PA system.


Salem stared straight ahead for a moment before searching his pockets. He found the aforementioned letter and read aloud "The person who makes it, sells it. The person who buys it never uses it and the person who uses it doesn't know they are. What is it? Ripped from my mother's womb, Beaten and burned, I become a blood thirsty killer. What am I? If you break me I do not stop working, if you touch me I may be snared, If you lose me nothing will matter. What am I?" Salem looked at Derrick and said "...riddles"

Derrick shook his head, "I never did like riddles..."

He then began to mull it over.

The person who makes it, sells it. The person who buys it never uses it and the person who uses it doesn't know they are. What is it? Scratching his head, "Well, I'm stumped..."

Salem thought and said "First riddle - Coffin. Ripped from mother's womb? Unsure. If you break me I do not stop working, if you touch me I may be snared, If you lose me nothing will matter. Again, unsure"

"Ripped from mother's womb and becomes deadly? That would be iron, I think. Break me and I don't stop working? That would be...uh...your heart? So, coffin, iron, and heart... the hell?"

((I looked these up, sorry. Even I'm not that great with riddles.))

((XD it's ok, I looked these riddles up too. I had to know the answer before the riddle so that Salem's hint would make sense))

Salem blinked once then replied "...hell?" He nodded towards Derrick and asked "letter? Where is your letter?"

(Oh, Victor won't be joining until the next 'world', for lack of a better word)

Jumping slightly, Derrick went looking in his pocket for his letter. Finding it, he suddenly had troubles seeing which was odd, he knew that he was wearing his glasses.

Salem took the letter and said "more riddles"

Rubbing the corners of his eyes restored some of his vision, he took back the letter and read aloud:

"Three lives have I. Gentle enough to soothe the skin, Light enough to caress the sky, Hard enough to crack rocks. What am I? What is it that after you take away the whole, some still remains? They say that time will bring this, sometimes faith, what am I?"

Mulling it over for a second, he sighed, "I know the first one's water. But the others? You got me."

((Second riddle I got from a site, third I came up with myself))

Salem thought hard before replying "healing. The last riddle is healing"

Derrick scratched his chin for a few minutes, then with a gasp he smacked himself on the forehead, "What is it that after you take away the whole, some still remains? Wholesome! ...But what does that h... Ohhh. Wholesome as in being complete. So water, wholesome, and healing. Now what?"
