Mutants V.S. Humans - between Erika & evan..relic

Ben grabbed some chocolate pudding for himself, and was half way through it when Erika asked her question, 'Sure. You'll have to climb up though.'

Erika took that as her challenge, and climbed onto his back. She stayed there, and rested her head between his shoulders. Her somewhat strong legs and arms keeping her on.

Beast looked at the clock and swore. "Court hearing in five minutes you two." He warned.

Ben had just finished the pudding when Beast gave the warning, he swore as well, "Brilliant. Come on Eri. Thankfully what you're wearing is fine enough."

He stood up with Erika hanging off his back, putting his arms under her legs to support her, he said, "Catch ya on the flip side, Beast."

Then he left, half-walking, half-running for the court room, which thankfully was in the same building. He skidded into the door two minutes later, everyone was already there, the jury, the judge and the gallery.

The judge, a mutant with a third eye in his forehead, leaned back, "Ah, here's the people of the moment."

Ben bowed his head, "Sorry, breakfast took longer than I expected."

"Just take a seat." And so, Ben did, but not before putting Erika in the chair beside him.

Beast looked after them. "Good luck you two." He whispered.

Erika enjoyed being with Ben. Sitting beside him, she started to shake. She hoped they would approve Ben's request to become her father.

The three-eyed judge rapped his gavel against the table, "This court is now come to order, today we are judging the case of Benjamin Jakob DaVine applying to become Erika's stepfather."

"Do you have anything to say, Benjamin?" He shook his head, he knew what he wanted, and he knew he was going to get it.

The judge sat back, "We have all heard good things about Benjamin here, his vendetta against the humans, his help with the construction of our township, and his caring for the children, and his supplying us with the intelligence to the AMA's plans. Personally, I cannot see a reason for the papers to be finalized, but that is for the jury to decide." He nodded to the jury who, taking the cue, all stood up and took their leave to the decision room.

Ben sighed as he rested his arms on the table, 'So far so good.' He thought to Erika.

Erika poked his arm. She pointed to her tummy, and made the hand sign for flip and jump. She smiled at Ben, then at the judge. 'Ben my daddy?' She asked, projecting her thoughts to everyone in the room. She cocked her head, and her eyes conveyed hopefulness. As always she wasn't able to stay quiet for long.

The judge looked down at Erika, "We'll see, young one. It's up to the jury."

Ben nodded in agreement.

Erika turned to face Ben, and started to poke his arm again. When that wasn't wroking, she began to bat at his arm like a kitten. 'Uppy in lap?' She asked, Ben.

Ben picked up Erika and placed her in his lap.

Erika curled up in his lap, and placed her head on his chest. She listened to him breath, and his heartbeat. She cuddled into him, not moving, and staying really quiet.

Suddenly a sound to the right rang clear around the court room, instantly bringing everyone back to attention.

One by one, the jury came back in. Ben noticed that one of them, had a sort of sour look on his face.

"Has the jury reached a verdict?" The judge asked.

One of the jury, a rather attractive female stood up, and said, "We of the jury, have, indeed, reached a consensus. We have determined, in a majority case, that we are for the finalization of the adoption papers, here in this court of law."

The judge nodded and banged the gavel, "The decision is final, from here on in, Benjamin DaVine is, officially, Erika's father. Court dismissed." Again, he banged the gavel. Everyone rose and left, the disgruntled member of the jury, shooting Ben a venomous look.

Ignoring him, Ben hugged Erika tightly, 'It's official now. You can call me daddy.'

Erika leaped up, and hugged him. 'DADDY!' She said happily. She was so happy, she hugged his neck to the point of hurting him.

Ben easily removed her arms from around his neck, 'Come on. Let's go get a treat in celebration.'

Erika leaped down, and ran out the court room. She waited in the hall, jumping up and down. 'Daddy, hurry.'

Ben ran after her, grabbed her around the waist, hoisted her to his back and ran out of the HQ and to a small restaurant across the impromptu street. It was Erika's favorite.

Erika squeeled in delight. Her favourite restraunt had a play-place in it. 'Daddy, all mine.' She said happily.

'Eri, all mine.' He said back as they went in, 'First we get a table, then you can go play.'

Erika nodded. 'Ok daddy.' She then looked at a kid eating chicken nuggets. 'Me hungry.'

'On second thought, go play, I'll order the food, call you over with the mind thing and then we'll eat. Sound good, Eri?'

Erika hugged him. 'Ok, daddy.' With that she ran into the play room. She went through all the tunnels and slides, she even played on the video game console, mario. Erika was having a blast. She climbed up into area's she wasn't supposed to, and didn't get caught. She found a bar, and hung from it with her knees. 'Daddy, look at me.' She called to him.

As Ben was ordering Erika's favourite, he heard her call out, he turned his head and waved, 'Little monkey.' He smiled.

Erika was attracting attention from the other kids as she preformed stunts normal children couldn't do. She laughed, and did tricks off the bar, and floor. She even did back-flips. Erika was having a blast. The children lost interest in her, and they went back to their tables. Erika went back to the bar, and continued to hang upside down from it.

Ben quickly paid, and called out to Erika, 'Come on Eri. I have the food, let's eat, then you can go back to playing.'

Erika launched herself off the bar, and did a back-flip. She ran back to Ben, and sat down at the table. 'Daddy, did you see me?' She asked him. She liked preforming her gymnastics for him.

Ben sat the food down on the table, 'Yes. I did. I should consider putting you into gymnastics, kiddo. Anyways, let's eat. The fries, root beer and nuggets are yours.' He picked up a burger, fries and his own root beer.

Erika ate the food quickly, and drank the rootbeer at the same speed. Letting out a huge burp, she leans back in her chair, and stares at Ben. 'Daddy, I wanna do more tricks on more stuff.' She announced. Erika loved being active and showing off for Ben.

Ben was about half done the burger, the fries and the drink, 'That's why I said I should put you into gymnastics after you start going to school. You can do a lot more cool things, I'll even talk to the teacher on your behalf.'

Erika somehow launched herself across the table into Ben's lap. She hugged him, and squeeled. 'Thank you daddy.' The normal people were looking at them weird, wondering what was going on, for neither of their lips were moving. Erika obviously didn't notice.

Ben hugged Erika back, then he looked up at the staring people and tapped the side of his head, signing that Erika was a telepath.

They all nodded and went back to their meals, Ben thought to Erika, 'I'm your dad now, I'd do anything for you.'

Erika hugged him harder, and didn't let go. 'Do you like being my daddy?' She asked.
