Ayasha caught his statement before he cut it off, and frowned. 'What is this bad feeling you have?' She asked, concerned. 'Have we been discovered? Has it to do with the pups?' She opened her eyes, searching his eyes and face for clues.

'Don't worry, it's nothing. I get these usually years in advance. I doesn't mean much.'

Ayasha frowned, but left the topic alone. Resting her head once more on the floor, she sighed, and closed her eyes. The pups stirred, and tiny paws could be seen through her stretched belly. 'The pups will be here soon.' She said, in a soft voice.

'I can tell... Going to be a rowdy bunch, aren't they?'

Ayasha smiled, and rolled her eyes. 'You would know wouldn't you?' She asked, teasingly. She moaned as a pup kicked her in the ribs, and another in the spine.

Rolling his eyes, he lay down beside her, 'Yeah, I would. wouldn't I?' He rebutted.

Apparently he got a little too close to her as he was suddenly kicked in the side by one of the pups, 'Ow.'

Ayasha moaned again, as another pup kicked her hard, making Geralt feel it too. Panting, she squeezed her eyes shut, as the pups became more restless. 'I think me teleporting like that has made the pups disorientate, or something.' She said, her voice sounding strained.

'To be honest, I don't know.'

Shaking his head, he blew his nose a few times, her female scent was becoming palpable; it made the short hairs on his hide stand on end.

Ayasha looked at him with mild annoyance. 'What are you sneezing about?' She asked, her tone a little sharper than intended. Struggling to her feet, her belly touched the stone floor. Her hormones making her act snobbish. 'I didn't ask for this. And yet you have to nerve to act like a spoiled pup.' Her voice wavered slightly, as her body became quickly exhausted from standing.

He sighed, 'Ayasha. Lay down. Don't stress yourself, you'll hurt the pups. It's your scent, it's strong...' He trailed off as he rubbed his nose with his right paw.

Ayasha gave him a look of murder, and walked to the entrance of the cave. Her belly scraping against the floor. The pups kicked her harder, and she winced as she made a sound of pain.

Geralt sighed as he phased out of the visible spectrum and faded back right in front of Ayasha, 'That wasn't a suggestion.' He said sharply.

Ayasha growled, but did as he told her. Laying down on her side, her belly moved visibly. Her skin rippled, and she moaned. Closing her eyes, she gave a sigh, and tried to relax.

Geralt sighed as he walked over to Ayasha, suddenly her scent flucuated becoming extremely strong for a moment, 'Uh... Ayasha? Prepare yourself. They'll be here soon...'

Ayasha groaned, and growled. Suddenly liquid gushed out from between her legs. A clear liquid tinged with blood. The pups settled slightly, as the prepared for their journey into the world. Pain ripped through her, as the contractions started signaling that she was in labor.

Geralt shook his head as he went over to Ayasha's side, he gently licked her ear, 'Please keep calm. The pups will be here soon.'

Ayasha groaned, and gave an ear splitting scream. Another contraction hit her, and she screamed louder. Bearing down, she felt a small muzzle make its way through the birth canal. She screamed again, as the head stretched her opening wide. She felt the head come out, and she pushed again. The rest of the body came out, and laid still. Turning around, she licked it clean, and pushed it lightly to one of her teats. She felt another pup sliding down the canal, and she screamed. Her belly had started to deflate slightly, so the muscles could be seen flexing under her skin and fur. The second pup was born, followed by a third and a fourth. While all the pups were suckling, she screamed again, and pushed hard. Another pup was born, but it was smaller than the others. Ayasha lay panting as her five pups drank from her full teats.

Gerlat smiled, these pups reminded him of himself. Laying beside Ayasha so that the pups were between them, he licked Ayasha's muzzle, 'Believe me now?'

Ayasha growled something unintelligable, and fell asleep. Her body weak from giving birth, laid still. Blood trickled from between her legs as the placenta removed itself from the wall of her womb, and exited her body.

Geralt nuzzled Ayasha's neck, and gave each of the pups a thorough licking to clean them off since Ayasha was "down for the count" as it were.

Looking at the mess of her placenta, he had a faint idea of what to do. Not knowing anything else to do, he went with what he did: opening his jaws, he scooped it up and swallowed it. One, to deter would-be predators, and two... Well, he didn't exactly know the second reason. Once it was down, he made a weird face at the taste of it and went to lay down beside Ayasha so that the newborns were between them.

Looking at them, he could see the very powers that had made him what he was right there and then, begin to work on the pups; right there, he decided that the smallest one, the female, would grow to be like him. Powerful and decisive, cunning and wily. Of that, there would be no doubt.

With those thoughts whirling about his mind, he lay his head down upon his paws and slipped into the meditation that had replaced natural sleep for him.

Ayasha mummbled in her sleep, and she winced as the pups fed from her. Still asleep, she cried out a sound of pain, and then was silent, and still. Her breathing the only sign of life.

Geralt sighed as he looked out of the mouth of the cave and into the slowly falling twilight, to his eyes it seemed as bright as noon day sun.

Somewhere deep in his mind, something pricked at his subconscious making his skin crawl, he shivered without knowing why.

Ayasha yawned and awoke. The pups slept, as she shook her head. Looking at Geralt, she got the feeling that something was bothering him. "What's wrong, my love?" She asked him, concerned.
