Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace Empty Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace

Post  Vilkas Mon Jul 30, 2012 4:47 am

There is a legend, spread throughout Japan, that there is a hidden village that can only be visited in dreams. This village has drawn in four dark spirits
Kirie Himuro, The Rope Shrine Maiden. She draws in those that have abandoned their duties
Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace Kirieb10
Sae Kurosawa, The Twin Shrine Maiden. She draws in twins or those that lost a twin
Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace Saek10
Reika Kuze, The Tattooed Priestess. She draws in survivors of tragedies or lovers of those that fall to her curse. It is she that allows the spirits to bring victims to the 'Village of Suffering'
Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace Reika_10
and Sakuya Haibara, The Kiraigou Utsuwa. She draws in those who suffer Getsuyuu Syndrome
Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace 350px-10
There are three curses that can befall the unwary - The Tattooed Curse(Brought upon those touched by Reika), The Rope Curse(Brought upon those touched by Kirie), and, for those with Getsuyuu Syndrome, their illness will quicken(Only if they look upon Sakuya's Blooming face).

Those that are drawn in by the spirits will occasionally wake up and return to the living, but the moment they fall asleep again they are pulled back to where they were when they 'left'. There was one man, Hiroshi Sasaki, who escaped the spirits long enough to write what happened to him in the Village of Suffering. He died one day after escaping, leaving his belongings in the care of his wife Haruhi and son Natsu.

No one knows why these spirits have come to haunt the living, but none who have been drawn in have ever returned alive. And all who fall to these spirits haunt the Village of Suffering and mercilessly kill due to an unknown corruption that has tainted their souls. Depending on what curse kills the victim, their body will be found in different... conditions.

Notes
1) I'm lame, lets get that out of the way.
2) This is set in Japan, though you don't have to be Japanese. Just so everyone knows
3) The Rope Curse goes like this - first rope mark bruises will start to appear on the wrists, ankles and neck of the victims, then The victim will see or sense things that are not physically there. This stage is worsened in the cases of those who have a sixth sense, next images of ropes will appear on photographs of the victim, with more ropes appearing as the curse progresses. It is unclear if this is an objective phenomenon or a shared hallucination by those afflicted with the curse. After curse victims will begin to lose sanity, and speak in confused, nonsensical language, usually concerning ropes or a woman in a white kimono. Lastly, victims are found dead, horribly mutilated as if torn limb from limb. Sometimes, only bits and pieces of the cursed victims are discovered.
4) The Tattooed Curse goes like this - First the victim suffers PTSD. Not all victims will suffer from this symptom; however, most will. Victims of the curse are usually diagnosed with PTSD after having suffered through and survived a horrific event. These events usually resulted in the death of a loved one. Then they suffer hallucinations. Next, at first mistaken by victims as a bruise, a Snake and Holly pattern slowly grows across the victims body as they succumb more and more to the curse. This pattern will continue to grow until it covers the victim's entire body including their eyes. The tattoo can only be seen by the cursed and causes physical pain as it spreads. The spreading happens in small bursts and takes 1-2 months before covering the whole body. Curse victims will begin to sleep for longer and longer periods at a time. Some victims are observed humming or softly singing a song to themselves when awake. All that remains of victims who have suffered the final stage of the curse is ash/soot.
5) Getsuyuu Syndrome has four stages: Budding, Breaking, Resonance, and Blooming. Sufferers will start wandering around during the middle of the night or sleepwalk. The phase of the moon affects the patients. At certain times, the symptoms will become worse or agitated. Patients will often seek out the moonlight. Initial symptoms will also include mild memory impairment, forgetting important things. At the Budding stage patients become frightened of their own reflection. Patients form deep attachments to certain items. Some will collect multiple objects, whereas others will cling to one in particular and keep it with them at all times. A few patients, feeling that they are losing their identity, will use a doll to "store" part of themselves, so that it will not change. Some patients kill themselves deliberately so they will not have to face the loss of all their memories, others endanger themselves trying to get closer to the moon and die accidentally, and others die of cardiac arrest.
6) To fight ghosts you must find the four Tattooed Stakes and perform the Etching Ritual (Take the stake and carve a sword tattoo into the arms). This allows the person to use weapons against ghost and actually, you know, hit them. (The characters will find a book that tells them what to do the moment they 'wake up' in the dream village)
7) Any info I missed can be gained at http://www.cameraslens.com/fatalframewiki/index.php5?title=Main_Page

Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace Empty Natsu Sasaki

Post  Vilkas Mon Jul 30, 2012 6:39 am

Natsu slowly walked the streets of town, mumbling to himself as he looked for the store he always went to. The memory was starting to fade so he wanted to see it again. He finally found what he was looking for: a book store. He entered and looked at the different books, but ultimately decided to go to a corner and read his father's book again. He sang softly under his breath

"Neiryasayo hatate
Neiryasayo hatate
Nakuko wa kagobune tsui no michi
Ichiwara kisete onmekashi
Neiryasena sakamihagi

Neiryasayo hatate
Neiryasayo hatate
Miko-san awai ni okitsukeba
Shiseigi ugatte imii no gi
Kumon hiraite yasukarazu

Yukinasayo hatate
Yukinasayo hatate
Yukibune yurashite hatate
Kono kishi hiraite hatate
Rourou miwatari ka no kishi ni
Shisei watashite naku ga teage

Fatal Frame - Rest in Peace Empty Byron Martin

Byron slowly and methodically made his way down the aisle of the bookstore, he didn't know what he was looking for, he just knew he was there for something. His eyes were blood red from crying, something that he had become accustomed to.

Somewhere beyond him he heard something, a song. Almost immediately he recognized it, the song that his now deceased love sang while she was on her death bed before....

Finding his way towards the source of the song, he stopped before the individual, "Th-that s-s-song...h-h-how do y-you kn-know it?"

Natsu looked up at the stranger, his eyes wide like a deer in headlights. He slowly closed his book and asked "what... s-song?" The woman at the counter called over "Sasa-chan! I have those books you wanted!" Natsu, grateful for the distraction went over to the woman, but then said sadly "I don't remember... ordering any books" The woman smiled, patted his shoulder, and said "but you remembered to come to the store, right? And in your defense you didn't order them, your daddy did. Focus on that, ok Sasa-chan?" Natsu smiled and nodded. He took the bag of books and ran out of the store.

The woman at the counter looked at the man that approached Natsu, went over to him, and said "mind telling me what you want with that boy?"

"A song?" The woman turned to the door, then back at the man and said "Head for the woods outside of town. Follow the ribbons to get to Sasa-chan's house. Yellow means left, Red means right, blue means you went the wrong way so turn back. When you get to the house, if a woman answers the door then it's his mother so just ask to speak with Sasaki Natsu"

"Yellow...left, right...right, and blue...turn around? Natsu..." His hands quivered, "T-t-thank you." With that he walked out of the store and made his way into the woods.

((I'm just going to assume he got to the door. If you had something planned then just tell me and I'll edit this post))

Haruhi answered a knock at the door. At the site of the strange man she cleared her throat and asked "may I... help you?"

Taking a deep breath, "He was singing the same song that my...dead wife was singing before she died and turned...into...ash. She didn't know any...Japanese." He struggled with himself to keep his voice calm.

The woman moved to the side and motioned for the stranger to come in. She called "Natsu-Chan! You have a visitor!" Natsu poked his head out from a side room before fully entering. He saw the man from the store and, holding up a doll, asked "you wanted to see Sasaki-san?"

((Because he 'stored' himself in the doll he no longer thinks he is Natsu. He responds to the name, but thinks of himself as a poor replacement of 'the real Natsu'))

((Getsuyuu Syndrome is an illness, not a curse))

Natsu's mother explained sadly "Natsu-chan suffers from Getsuyuu Syndrome... ever since his father made that doll he... he acts like the doll is the 'real' Natsu-chan"

((Either or. Slight mix up on my bit...))

Byron nodded as though any of this made sense, taking another calming breath, "He was singing the same song, in the same language, that my now dead wife was singing before she was turned into a pile of ash, what is it?"

Haruhi spoke to Natsu and asked "Natsu-chan? Was Sasaki-san singing? What was he singing" Natsu hugged the doll close to him and replied "the little girl with the stake and mallet was singing it" Haruhi's eyes went wide. She took Natsu by the shoulders and asked "what girl? where?"

...

"In my dreams"

Suddenly, Natsu fell into his mother's arms. He was fast asleep. Haruhi carried Natsu away and said as she left "I-I'm sorry, but can you show yourself out?"

((when they enter the village their will be four prominent gates that lead to different 'villages within The Village'. A blue gate to the north(Reika), a yellow gate to the south(Sakuya), a brown gate to the east(Kirie), and a red gate to the west(Sae)))

Byron shrugged, "Sure." He said as he left the home.

Walking back to the town a tear made a trail down his cheek, all he was trying to do was find answers and his only lead was suddenly asleep. Shaking his head, he made his way back to the flat that he had rented when he moved here with his wife.

Sullenly, he microwaved some pizza pockets he had left over in the freezer and ate them slowly, he was tired at this point so after he finished eating, he went to his cot, the one that he had slept in when his wife had fallen ill, he couldn't bring himself to sleep in the bed she had died in. Slowly, he fell asleep.

* * *

Byron suddenly found himself wide awake and standing in an old stone archway, looking around he saw four coloured gates, one red, one blue, one yellow, and one brown, "What the?" He said aloud, shattering the silence of where he was.

Natsu nodded and, flipping through the pages of his father's book, read aloud "The Village of Suffering. A village created and ruled by four denizens"

((The book won't be 100% accurate because of who wrote it, but it will be good for insight))
